Kitchen Vastu For A Healthy Family

Vastu is the ancient Indian science of architecture following which will hugely benefit the residents. Not just the entire house but each room should be built according to a principle. When it comes to the kitchen which is the source of all health and well-being proper positioning of the gas stove, sinks, refrigerator and other appliances is important. For a start, the kitchen must never be placed below or beside the toilet. Even sharing a wall with the washroom is inadvisable.

Location: The kitchen should be located, preferably, in the southeast or northwest corner. The South east part is also well-suited because fire governs the south east direction. A house built by experienced EXIN architects takes care of all vastu rules and regulations.

Gas stove: The cooking gas should ideally face the south east direction so that the cook always faces the Eastern direction.

Sink: All the sinks and taps in the kitchen should be installed away from the kitchen since fire and water repel each other.

Refrigerator: A refrigerator should ideally be placed in the south western or north eastern direction.

Windows: Proper ventilation is necessary is necessary is the kitchen but it should not affect the flame of the gas stoves since it will lead to delay in cooking and can even cause a mishap. Small ventilators can be located on the southern part of the kitchen while a large window in the east can let in air and light without hampering the flame of the gas stove.

Kitchen flooring: Ceramic tiles are the best suited for greasy kitchen floors because they can be cleaned easily. They are also durable and scratch resistant which ensures long life and less maintenance.

Color: Lighter shades should be chosen for the walls instead of black or very dark blue.

Kitchen is crucial for maintaining health and happiness in the family. It should be comfortable for the person cooking the meals. Constructing one right next to the dining room makes serving easy.
